1. To Evangelize the World: once we receive
the awesome gift of salvation it becomes our responsibility to bring
the message of the Good News of Jesus Christ to a dying world.
This mandate was clearly expressed when
Jesus said:
“Go ye therefore, and teach all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever
I have commanded you: an lo, I am with you alway, even unto the
end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:19-20
2. To Edify the Body of Christ: it
is also our responsibility to build up one another since we are brothers
and sisters in Christ. We seek to encourage each other to walk in
the spirituals gifts we have each been given.
The Bible clearly states:
“And he gave some, apostles;
and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and
teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the
ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” Ephesians
4:11-12
3. To Glorify God: finally it is
our responsibility to bring glory and honor to the God we serve so
that others will see us and in turn glorify God themselves:
“Let your light so shine before
men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father
which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
